Your hearing journey

At McCreesh Hearing, we understand that taking the first step towards better hearing can feel a little daunting. That’s why we take the time to ensure every stage of your journey is smooth, informative, and tailored to your individual needs.

Your hearing assessment

Your journey begins with a comprehensive hearing assessment, designed to determine whether you have a hearing loss and, if so, the type and degree. This is a non-invasive and painless test and will take around an hour to complete.

We will then carefully explain your results in detail. If hearing loss is identified, we will provide a clear clinical diagnosis and answer any questions or concerns you may have.

We recommend that you bring a close friend or family member to your appointment as this does prove helpful when discussing your results and to understand if there are particular aspects of your life where you feel your hearing loss impacts you the most.

Your options and recommendations

If your assessment determines that you would benefit from support with your hearing, we will walk you through the options available to you. We take the time to consider:

Your lifestyle needs – ensuring you can hear confidently in all situations
Your budget – offering a range of solutions to suit different price points
Technology & style preferences – finding the right balance between performance, comfort, and cosmetic appeal

Our goal is to provide a solution that works for you, ensuring you feel comfortable and confident in your choice. As an independent provider, we are fortunate to be able to offer you a really wide range of solutions of latest technology.

The fitting

Once you have chosen your preferred hearing aid model, depending on whether you require custom-made devices, they will be ordered and will arrive to be fitted, within 1-3 weeks.   At your fitting appointment, the devices will be programmed and fine-tuned to your specific hearing prescription. This fine-tuning process ensures you get the best possible performance from your hearing aids, allowing you to hear comfortably and clearly in a variety of environments.

Before you leave, we will explain how to operate your new hearing aid, ensuring it is adjusted correctly and feels secure and comfortable.

It can take some time to familiarise yourself with hearing aids, and they may sound a little unnatural; this is expected. Michelle, will explain this to you, what to expect, and the importance of persevering.
